Press Release: Julia Marie Bachison Crowned Miss Utah USA 2008
On October 13, 2007 Julia Marie Bachison of North Ogden, was crowned Miss Utah USA 2008.
In the spring of 2008 she will compete at the National MISS USA pageant on NBC. Julia also held the title of Miss Utah (America) 2005, making her the first woman in Utah history to compete at both Miss USA (2008) and Miss America (2006).
At the 2006 Miss America pageant Julia won the preliminary “Lifestyle and Fitness in a Swimsuit” competition. As Miss Utah 2005 Julia was the spokesperson for the Gold Medal Schools Program advocating eating healthy, being active and staying tobacco free. Since then Julia has worked in the Deseret Morning News Marathon and Marketing department and is currently the host for the Community Calendar on Utah’s 24 TV.
As MISS UTAH USA 2008 Julia hopes to be able to continue her work promoting health and fitness and speaking to youth about the importance of believing in one’s self and staying healthy to meet the challenges in life and accomplish one’s dreams.
